The Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network (YPN) presented a donation check for more than $2,000 to their non-profit partner, Special Olympics North Dakota – Bismarck on March 18 at Midway Lanes in Mandan.
In February, the YPN hosted their seventh annual Chill-N-Bowl tournament and surpassed all expectations by selling out for the second consecutive year. There were 26 teams, 104 bowlers, 26 crockpots and various costumes. During the event YPN raised a total of $2,403 for Special Olympics North Dakota – Bismarck.
“Once again, the YPN is impacting the community in a positive way. We are so proud that we are able to partner with Special Olympics and that our members gave so generously at this event,” said Heather Welle, YPN President.
The partnership between YPN and Special Olympics allows the Bismarck chapter the opportunity to connect with young professionals from around Bismarck-Mandan while providing YPN members with service opportunities throughout the year. Since their partnership began in September YPN has held several fundraising events to benefit the organization. Additionally, YPN encourages members to direct their volunteer efforts toward Special Olympics through coaching, fundraising, chaperoning and assisting players on the field.
