What does the committee feel he/she contributes to YPN? (Statement by Team Co-leads)
“Sr. Hannah is a relatively new member to the Service Team—she joined after the All Hands Fall Kickoff—but she has been more than willing to volunteer and is participating in other network events as well. She’s even recruited a new member or two. Her upbeat, positive attitude is a great addition to the team and helps to motivate the everyone.”
Why do you feel it is important to be part of the network? I think the network is a great way for younger people in the community to meet one another and interact in both social and professional settings. Young Professional events are good places to make friends and also to make connections which could help a person out career-wise. Because I spend most of my time at the University of Mary, I really enjoy meeting people my age from other businesses and organizations in the Bismarck-Mandan area. Since I have joined the YP Network, I have met many wonderful people with really diverse and interesting jobs.
How do you spend your free time? I spend much of the free time that I have (not much!) with my community of Sisters. I live with 30 other Sisters at Annunciation Monastery, and we do many things as a group – we pray, eat, work, play together… Our current favorite card game is Hand and Foot, a very fun and addicting game! I also love to bake (I specialize in trying new and creative recipes!), run, read, take road trips, garden, organize parties of all kinds and research historical stuff.
Are you involved in other organizations in the community? I am a member of the Bismarck/Mandan historical society. For a long time, I was involved in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization.
What is your favorite quote? I have two favorite quotes:
“Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.” –Helen Keller
“Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the Titanic who waved off the dessert…” –Erma Bombeck
