Place of Employment: HDR Engineering
Job Title/How long with Company: Marketing Coordinator – 8 months
Hometown: Williston, ND
Role in the YP Network: Serve on the E-Team and PR/Marketing Team
What does the committee feel she contributes to YPN? (Statement by Team Co-chairs, Jerry Haas & Dustin Leingang) Carmen has been a very dedicated member of the E-team. She is constantly coming up with new ideas on how we can take things to the next level with our YP Roundtables and Entrepreneurs Among Us events. Carmen recently volunteered to coordinate a new recognition program that will feature YP entrepreneurs. Her creativity and enthusiasm for YP shines through with all of the various projects that she works on.
How did you first get involved in the YPN? I became involved in YP through the influence of Molly Sullivan and Kayla Shafer (then President and VP). They invited me to get involved two years ago, and I have been ever since.
Why do you feel it is important to be part of the network? I feel it is important to be a part of the YP Network because the Network fosters personal and professional growth. I have had the opportunity to serve on both the E-Team and PR/Marketing team. These experiences have enabled me to meet new people, develop my skills as a young professional, and become more active in the community.
How do you spend your free time? I enjoy spending time outside (biking, volleyball, etc.), doing projects around the house with my husband, and reading anything I can get my hands on!
Are you involved in other organizations in the community? I teach Junior Achievement in the local elementary schools. Typically I teach two classes each semester, and I love spending time with the kids! I am also actively involved in HDR’s Young Professionals Group and lead the Total Service Organization (TSO) efforts for the Bismarck office.
