About YPN
Welcome to the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network! Our Mission is to enhance the social, professional, cultural, and service opportunities for young professionals in the Bismarck-Mandan area. The network began with a group of YPs sitting around a table discussing the lack of opportunities for young professionals in Bismarck-Mandan. We discussed the need to create opportunities to meet our peers, enhance diversity, cultivate entrepreneurial spirit, increase cultural and professional development opportunities, and to help provide a channel for Young Professionals to voice their concerns in the community.
The more we discussed the issues of concern to YPs the more we realized that a two-pronged solution was evident. First, we need to proactively work to develop opportunities and environments specifically for YPs, because up to this point, young professionals have not had an outlet specifically tailored to address their concerns as a collective group. Second, we also noted that many of the concerns we raised do have groups, businesses, organizations, non-profits, and hosts of others that are pursuing these same concerns. However, many young professionals are not aware of these organizations and the services they provide. So we decided to Create, Connect, and develop a sense of Community within Young Professionals.
Create: We proactively create environments and programs that allow for linkages between one another and within the community.
Connect: We actively pursue partnerships with businesses, non-profits, service, professional development, media, cultural, and entertainment organizations to help deliver opportunities that are already taking place within the community.
Community: We believe in the Bismarck-Mandan community and we believe that it can be an attractive place for Young Professionals. With the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network the community will have a solid partner and asset for the future development of Bismarck-Mandan.
