Service Team - "Give Back"
The Service Team is a voluntary team of dynamic, knowledgeable and committed young professionals who are devoted to serving the Bismarck-Mandan community. It consists of members who come from a range of backgrounds and experiences, but all having a common mission - to make a difference in the community. The Service Team fosters the notion of "giving back" to the Bismarck-Mandan community. Through our events, YP members have the opportunity to not only make a difference but also network among fellow members.
Goals:
- Recruit YP members through YPN Service Team sponsored events.
- Increase awareness of volunteer opportunities within the Bismarck-Mandan community to YP members.
- Develop additional partnerships with service organizations in the Bismarck-Mandan community.
2009 -2010 Service Team Contributes to Success
- 62 YP volunteers served over 100 teens through “Teenage Makeover”
- Clothing drive for “Teenage Makeover” provided teens with casual and professional wear
- 27 members volunteered at Papa’s Pumpkin Patch for the third year
- Collected over 50 toys for the Salvation Army Toy Drive
- Hosted a Blood Drive to help supply “new blood” during the spring flood
- 21 volunteers took part in the Annual Adopt A Highway west of Mandan on I-94
- 12 members formed a Relay for Life team and raised over $1,000.00
- 18 members served the Salvation Army Community Christmas Meal
- 12 volunteers assisted in Riverside Harvest by providing baked goods and/or serving food
